Maker Faire Africa is a celebration of African ingenuity, innovation and creation. Here you will find the Makers who showed their work at the 2010 event in Nairobi Kenya. Work ranges from time saving devices for agriculture to alternative energy sources from design with recycled objects to social media applications for mobile phones. PRODUCT / SERVICE

These two ambitious girls from Kibera Nairobi(aged 22 and 24), are creating LED Torches called Kiblight. Using materials like an LED panel and some bulbs, plus some electrical know-how for the final product.

NEXT STEP

The durability is 15years for the whole product. With the batteries lasting for 3-5 yrs, the lighting lasts for up to 100 hours.
They are doing this commercially and want to gain mentorship for a larger audience/clientele. Networking would be a huge plus for them.
